Waistcoat and Kilt Lead Aprons for X-ray protection
Waistcoat and Kilt style divides the weight between shoulders and hips.
- The weight ratio between the waistcoat and kilt is approximately 40%-60%.
- Available in Petite, Small, Medium and Large in a variety of lengths.
The waistcoat overlaps the kilt slightly to give full-length protection. This style significantly reduces the strain on the wearer's neck and shoulders.
IMPORTANT: For optimum weight reduction, the correct size must be worn.
The waistcoat and kilt lead aprons are available in the two following options.
Lightweight Lead - standard lead vinyl
- Guaranteed protection against most forms of ionising radiation
Edge Bilayer - lead-free and low weight
- Latest formulation with advantages of weight and disposability.
Note: Both materials have very similar attenuation at both high and low kVs (100kVp - 0.25 mm 90%, 0.35 mm 94%, 0.50 mm 97%).
